Baseboard Heating – Difficult But Possible

At times people want baseboard heating. This could be in the home in rooms or areas where central heat just doesn’t seem to do a good job. For others it might be under the counter at a store to help heat the employees as they work especially near glass that’s not insulated so well.

Baseboard heat is possible but at times a bit difficult.

Rarely do these heaters fit.

Many times the area you want the baseboard heater in must be cut or altered in some way to make the heater fit in place. Once done it is out of the way but requires more effort than other types of heaters.

Hard wiring

Many baseboard heaters have to be hardwired into place. There isn’t room to run a cord so you need electrical work.

Features to look for in a baseboard heater.

Look for ones that are going to be cool to the touch. You don’t want your foot, your child, or your pet to get burned on accident.

Find Baseboard Heaters that are carpet safe. This means that the heater can run even against carpet and not cause any fire problems. Even if you are putting the heater in an area without carpet, it’s still a good safety feature to consider.

Find one with a built in overheating shut down feature. Sometimes you forget to turn off the heater and this will protect against any problems.
