Having a fire pit in the backyard is another way of heating the patio. Fire pits don’t have to be holes dug in the ground or like a campfire. Today’s fire pit are free standing metal units that you can build a fire in or have artificial fires and relax in the ambiance.
The CobraCo FB6540 round bravo fire pit with screen and cover is one popular fire pit option. This is a meshed metal fire pit that allow heat to escape on all side. It has a screen cover to put on the top of the fire pit for added safety keeping everything in the fire pit and not out on your patio.
Ever though this CobraCo fire pit looks great and seems like a good deal, it has it’s problems.
There are more than a few reported cases of the screen cover actually melting and warping under the heat of a fire. Any part of a fire pit should be made to a quality that can withstand the heat of a fire since that’s what the product is designed to do. It seems less safe to have a “safety” cover that will warp and bend becoming extremely hot than it is to not have one at all.
Otherwise this is a fairly standard fire pit for the price.
