Discount Patio Heaters – What To Be Careful Of When Buying One
With stand up patio heaters, they all look just about the same. You can find them ranging in price from about $199 to well over $1000. Discount patio heaters do work but there are some considerations that you should be careful about when purchasing one.
Generally, the patio heater is at such a cheap price because it is made of lower quality components. This is fine as long as you take care of the patio heater.
The best practice is to move the heater out to the patio when you want to use it, then put it away in a shed or in a garage when you are done with it. Lower quality heaters tend to fall apart especially the outside coating when exposed to wind, rain, snow, heat, cold, and humidity. Many tend to rust and have other problems with the finish.
If you don’t want to take the time and effort to move an almost 100 pound heater into the garage, at least get a patio cover that you keep on it while not in use.
If you do go for the cheapest model, it’s best to get an electric heater. This is because the lighting mechanisms in cheap heaters tend to go out first (even expensive patio heaters have this problem). That way there are less parts to worry about breaking.
