Hanging Patio Heaters – Which Types Are Better?

Some people don’t want to have to mess with patio heaters being in the way because of potential trips and falls and the danger associated if one were to come crashing down. Instead the option are hanging patio heaters. These will be out of the way saving some floor space and allowing you to still gain the benefit of heat.

There are hanging patio heaters that look like your traditional standing heater, but these are generally for commercial enterprises and are quite expensive and hard to get installed. Most of these will require very high ceilings to operate.

The other version which most residential users will have are hanging wall heaters. These mount to a wall and will heat an area based on infrared or radiant heat. Instead of being domed shaped they will be flat, long, and rectangular. Many of these can effectively heat a normal sized patio quite well. Compared in price to the domed look, they are about 1/5th the price which saves you money. If you have a larger area, you can run more than one at once directing the heat to different parts of your backyard and patio.

If you go for this option, find the ones with a glass protective covering because there is the chance the leaves, bugs, and dirt can get into them causing shorts or even fires. Plus the protective glass will help the heater last longer with weather conditions especially moisture which is the enemy of most patio heaters.
