How A Space Heater Thermostat Will Save You Even More Energy

One reason that many turn to space heaters is because heating the entire home can become too costly. During the winter months costs on the fuels that keep homes warm in some parts of the country skyrocket making it difficult to keep up with heating bills. The strategy is to use a space heater in your bedroom at night turning off central heating.

One issue with space heaters though is that many are either on or off. Some have high and low settings but this doesn’t help. You either leave it on all night and end up getting a little warm or you turn it off getting cold.

A space seater thermostat can help with this problem. Many cheaper space heaters do not have a thermostat option but it’s starting to become more normal. A thermostat will help you keep the room at a certain temperature throughout the night so that you won’t be too hot or too cold.

If you can’t afford one with the thermostat option, there are some heaters with timers that can turn the unit on for about 4 hours before it turns off. This will work during the night as you will have enough heat to make it through the night after the 4 hours of use. There are wall socket devices that can tell an electrical outlet to run for a certain number of hours as well but for a space heater alone this might be a little much.
