Infrared Outdoor Heater – Distinct Advantages To This Heater
There are a wide variety of outdoor heater options. Many come with their ups and downs. Infrared outdoor heaters seem to have many of the advantages giving your backyard or patio the heat is needs without all the problems other types of heaters can cause.
Infrared heat works a bit differently than other sources of heat. Instead of heating the air around the heater, it will directly heat an object or material that it’s pointed towards. This is a much more efficient way of heating the outdoors because it’s too difficult to try to heat all the air especially when the wind is blowing.
Most infrared outdoor heaters are installed along the walls or hung in some way to keep them out of the way and make sure they remain pointed towards the areas that need heat. The advantage of this is that there is nothing to be knocked over or tripped over on your patio.
Another advantage is that you don’t have to worry about storing them away in a shed or garage when not in use. Most will have a protected glass sealed environment that will stand up to wind and rain just like a light bulb would when it’s exposed to the elements. Many freestanding patio heaters go bad because of the elements where an outdoor infrared heater will last despite the weather.
Some of these types of heaters do run on propane and natural gas, but most run off electricity. If you want some models can actually be connected to a switch in your home so you can have on/off capabilities as easy as a porch light.
