Kick Space Heaters – Good or Bad Option for Hard to Heat Areas?
Underneath counters, in hallways, stairs, behind checkout counters, and even tollbooths are all very difficult places to heat properly. In these places there is little room for other types of heaters. Safety is also a concern.
One type of heater that is completely out of the way is a kick space heater. It’s small enough and thin enough vertically that it can fit below a kitchen counter or under a stair.
These heaters will heat up to around 150 or so square feet of space making them great for small spaces.
The kick space heaters come with thermostat controls which is a better option that just on/off switches.
They are incredibly quite and have an overheating protection where they will shut off if they get too hot.
The problem with the kick space heater is installation. You have to know what you are doing because these heaters need to be hardwired into the home or store’s electricity. This makes it difficult for the average person to use. A bit of carpentry might be required to cut and fit the heater into place.
If this is something you want, it works pretty well. Otherwise there are better options to heat small areas that are a bit more user friendly than the kick space heater.
