Why consider the table top heater?
Sometimes you might not want a large, bulky patio heater or other heating device in your backyard that takes up quite a bit of space or could be knocked over.
You might want something that is smaller, more compact, and easy to your for your patio table on your porch. A table top patio heater is a great option for this since it will sit on the table and heat those who are around it. They aren’t quite as strong as a full sized standing patio heater, but you may not need the 20 foot diameter heat that those offer.
What is the fuel source
Table top patio heaters normally are run off propane. Many have smaller propane chambers in the base of heater to weigh it down and use it as an energy source. Natural gas doesn’t work because you would have to run a line to your table. There are electric ones but you do have to deal with the cords.
The added bonus of a table top heater besides the heat is the orange and yellow light that will add to the table top giving you a little bit extra light to see what you are doing.
Safety
Be sure to use a table top heater on a table that is sturdy and not going to tip over. Many tables can flip over if too much weight is on one side. This can be a dangerous thing so be careful where you place the heater.
